Osaka - Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass


Experience the nature and traditions of Hokuriku along one of JR’s newest routes!


1. Foreign tourists who are visiting Japan from overseas for the purposes of tourism on a “Short-Term Stay” visa (holders of foreign passports). “Short-Term Stay” means a stay of 90 days or less for the purposes of tourism, visiting friends or family, during which time no paid activities shall be carried out.
Main types of “Short-Term Stay” visa issued in mainland China: “Single-entry visas for Individual Tourists”; “Multiple-entry visas for individual tourists visiting Tohoku Region (Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi)”; and “Multiple-entry visas for individuals with a substantially high level of income”
*「JR Osaka – Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass」 is not sold to Japanese nationals.


  • Within three months from the date the Exchange Order was issued, you must turn in your Exchange Order to obtain your JR Osaka – Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass (for example, an Exchange Order issued on 15APR would have to be turned in by 14JUL). At that time, it is necessary to specify the date that you want to start using the Pass. It can be any date within three month from the date the Exchange Order is issued.
  • JR West Ticket Offices in: Kansai-Airport, Osaka, Shin-Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Toyama
  • JR East: Nagano Station, Narita Airport Terminal 1/2/3, Haneda Airport
    International Terminal, Tokyo, Shinagawa, Ueno, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Yokohama.

  • Valid for 7 days consecutive from the first date the pass is used.
  • Unlimited use of ordinary car reserved seat on Hokuriku Shinkansen (Tokyo to Kanazawa), limited express, and local (including rapid service) trains (non-reserved seat on Haruka) and all Tokyo Monorail lines within the free usage area.
  • Service on Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen is not covered.
  • The pass can be used for traveling between Kanazawa and Tsubata on the IR Ishikawa Railway, but not to stations between these stations.
    The pass can also be used for traveling between Kanazawa and Tsubata on IR Ishikawa Railway limited express trains.
  • The pass can be used for traveling between Takaoka and Toyama on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway, but not to stations between these stations.
    Liner train fare is required for rapid service on Ainokaze Toyama Railway’s “Ainokaze Liner”.


  • Refunds on exchange vouchers:
  • Refunds may be paid on exchange vouchers within one year of the date of issue, but only by the issuing vendor. The refund amount is the sales
    price minus the prescribed administration fee and postages fees.

  • Refunds on passes:
  • Within the validity period of the pass ticket described, unused pass ticket , can return back to the selling place.
    The refund amount will be the sales price in Hong Kong dollers, minus 10% plus HKD 100 per ticket.
    Please be aware that no refunds whatsoever will be made once the valid period of the pass has commenced.

  • No reissuing:
  • Exchange vouchers or passes will not be reissued under any circumstances, including loss, theft or damage, so please look after them carefully.


The above table shows the prices for JR Osaka – Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass exchange voucher. The real price in local currency is calculated using the BSR (bankers selling rate) at the time the exchange voucher is issued. Please understand that the exchange rate when you purchase the exchange voucher may be different from the exchange rate at the time you visit Japan. The price in local currency, real exchange rate, and date of issue of the exchange voucher are listed on the face of the exchange voucher. Children’s prices are applied for children aged between 6 and 11 (inclusive) on the date of issue of the exchange voucher. (Prices may change. In such cases, the price as of the date of issue of the exchange voucher shall be applicable.)
